On Saturday, September 23rd 2017 Wayne Wight and I participated in a 5 K Walk that helped to raise awareness and funds for those who have Kidney Disease. As some of you may know Wayne has kidney disease and goes to dialysis 3 times a week. It was while Wayne was at dialysis that we found out about the Kidney Walk and we decided to help towards the cause.
There were many familiar faces at the Kidney Walk, dialysis patients, their families, nurses and doctors and everyone were there to participate. Wayne walked as much as he could and the rest I pushed him in his wheelchair. He did great! Wayne quite enjoyed the ride considering how very hot it was that day. Good thing there were Timbits for us to snack on and lots of water.
Wayne raised a total of $175 and I raised $105! The foundation surpassed their goal of $5000 by $ 217. Really a great day was had by all and it was a success for the Kidney Foundation!
