August 2010, Parkhill Community Home

With help from their Outcome Facilitators, a group of people supported by Community Living Peterborough, who share a home together, identified that they had a need for some funds to be able to purchase items for their apartments. They had a meeting and decided that it may be a good idea to have a yard sale. The staff supported this decision and assisted with gathering items to sell. It was a lot of work to co-ordinate the yard sale. Many of the staff donated items from their homes and all of them ended up purchasing items from the sale.

Everyone had a wonderfully fun time running this sale and a total of $500.00 was raised.  This money will go a long way towards assisting people with purchasing items for their homes and lessen the stress on their budgets.
