On Monday, September 29th Community Living Peterborough drew the winning tickets for its 2008 Raffle. The big draw ceremony was hosted by Don Vassilliadis of the Shish Kabob-Hut.

The lucky Grand Prize winner of a luxury trip to St. Vincent was Lori Bygrave. The prize was sponsored by Marlin Travel, Ambassador Limousine and The Wolf/980 KRUZ and is valued at $8500. Full Story

Jerry Schweir & his sister Margaret received a special recognition award for their 20+ years of friendship and dedication

This year’s Volunteer Appreciation celebration was held at Royal Gardens on Wednesday, April 23rd from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Royal Gardens generously sponsored the venue, including refreshments, for this event.

Over 200 volunteers were invited and special recognition was given to Jerry Schweir for his over 20 years of volunteerism with the agency. This was truly an event that highlighted the strength of our Volunteer Services department and the capacity of the people we support to give back community in a powerful way. Pictures

Community Living Peterborough gets a 'kick start' on '08 United Way Campaign!

Monday September 15th, Community Living Peterborough (CLP) Campaign Coordinator Cindy Hobbins, led a room full of CLP staff and supporters in a celebration kick-off for this year’s United Way Campaign. Hobbins unveiled the agency's goal of: $8,500.00, along with the CLP team motto for this year's campaign:  Have Fun ~ Feel Good ~ Get Involved !!

Special Guest speakers included Andre Vallille, Resource Development Manager from United Way of Peterborough & District, and Laura Challice, Volunteer Campaign Spokesperson for United Way.

Best Buddies is a program designed to foster friendships between students (high-school, college/university) and people with an intellectual disability. Kate has been involved with the Fleming College Best Buddies Chapter for a year now in the position of Buddy Advocate. Full Story

When Sandy first started using the services of Community Living Peterborough, employment options were limited. In the beginning she participated in the Adult Rehabilitation Centre (ARC Industries), but this program was not suited to her dynamic, social personality and needs.
